Commissioner Bud Selig announced that he will not take any disciplinary measures against Jason Giambi given his cooperation with Senator George Mitchell's investigation and his off-field charitable activities.
How ridiculous. The only reason Selig didn't issue a suspension months ago is that he knew there was no way it'd hold up in front of an arbitrator. Everything else is merely politics. Giambi essentially admitted to using steroids in an interview earlier this year, but since he didn't pinpoint when it happened, there was never anything that could be done.

So what would Commissioner Smiff have done?
You know, Giambi's a nice guy, so it's cool. He's white and shit.
Bonds is only nice to the media on good days and that's a kind of inconsistency we can't have. I mean, you'd think he could hit without the media's help! Ridiculous.
And he's not forthright, Giambi's totally forthright. Fuck, he was telling Mitchell all kinds of shit. Like how he used to cheat on spelling tests from that kid that smelled funny. And he feels bad because the made fun of the kid in front of the hot Filipino chick at the junior high dance, but whatever. The kid probably went home and played some dungeons and wizards or whatever the fuck. So no harm done. Giambi was totally cool. He gave some pocket change to some organizations for t-shirts and equipment bags. I mean, he traded his guilt for a bag of baseballs and we could all use baseballs but very few of us could use guilt.
Bonds is fucking guilty though. He's more guilty than Giambi because he hit more homeruns. Think of a homerun on steroids as a murder, and you'll kind of get what I'm getting at here. Motherfucker probably stole some Katrina funds while he was at it. To build his house. The house that Bonds built is built on steroids and Katrina lumber. He should be ashamed.
Personally, I got no beef with either of them. But you get Clemens, you get Clemens and I'll pay attention.
I don't like that guy. Guilty.
