But picking on Joe is so easy I almost feel bad about passing this along, except I know Smiff enjoys it.

Top of the eighth. Cliff Lee has just given up his first hit of the game to the Cardinals, a double to right. Up in the booth, Joe Morgan decides to tell a story. You know where this is going...

So don't get too excited...

From one of those MLB Notes things:

Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is hitting .420. The last player to have that high of a batting average on this date was Paul O'Neill, who was hitting .431 for the 1994 Yankees.


Anyway - it's fucking balls-hot here. Miserable shit weather - exactly the kind there was here when Corms helped move me here exactly six years ago today (Monday, 9 June). I actually live in a smaller apartment now - so what that says about things I don't even know.
