How long does our national nightmare still have to go?
President Bush on Sunday defended his decision to attend next month's Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, saying that to boycott "would be an affront to the Chinese people."
No, it would show that you (and by extension we) care about those who the Chinese Government harm. Bring their plight to the forefront. You know, what we freedom loving countries are supposed to be doing. Your going says everything's A OK. Which it ain't. Don't you see how this weakens your denouncing of other countries for their human rights abuses?

being president is hard work (cont'd)
"I thought it was important to welcome these champs here to the White House, you know, to encourage people to fish," Bush said. "There’s nothing better than fishing..."

If we knew then what we know now...
Iraq key players, then and now
The US president said he had three reasons for going to war against Iraq - to disarm the country of its WMD, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism and to free the Iraqi people. "The attacks of September 11 2001, show what the enemies of America did with four airplanes. We will not wait to see what terrorists or terrorist states could do with weapons of mass destruction," he said in March 2003.
He forgot to mention - "Also, Saddam tried to hurt Daddy."

Bush defends US record on Darfur
US President George W Bush has defended his decision not to send troops to the Sudanese region of Darfur, despite what he calls a genocide taking place there.
He called it a "seminal decision" not to intervene with force, taken partly out of the desire not to send US troops into another Muslim country.
Well, now we know. There's a 'quota' on how many Muslim countries we can be in at any given time. No wonder Iran's going nuts - they know we can't invade or we'd go over the quota and what, the world would end? So if we pulled out of Iraq, then we could go into Darfur?
Or perhaps this is because of the unfortunate use of the word "crusade" earlier on in the Presidency? Now we can't go into a country that's had issues between a Muslim north and Christian south?
Or are the Sudanese too dark to spill our blood over? I mean, they do have oil there...
