formidable moisture (cont'd)

News item: A major storm lifts into the Midwest Sunday with a cocktail of precipitation. The moisture available to it will be formidable. It could be one of the wettest weather systems to traverse the nation's Heartland this winter. The Chicago area may be subject to the system's full range of precipitation (frogs? ed.). Early forecast trends suggest the metro area could sit astride the storm's so-called "rain/snow line".

sKILLy nails annudder one

The Chicago area emerged from its first wintry cocktail of snow and sleet Sunday after a weekend storm that began with snow, followed by sleet and freezing rain, before changing finally to rain only, in the precise quantities and at the exact hours as forecast by Tom "sKILLy" Skilling, WGN and Chicago Tribune meteorologist and soothsayer.

"Everything was revealed exactly as I prophesied," sKILLy said. "In my line of work, you put up with your share of doubters, haters, whiners, and naysayers, but when you're on top of your game, none of that affects you," he said.

"Smiff can bite me," he added.

make mine a gin martini, extra dry

I'm talking a veritable dust bowl of a martini. And throw a couple onions in deres.

WINTER STORM WARNING: Icy cocktail sweeping through area
As Chicago's winter overnight parking ban took effect, the area braced for a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.
