Craig Monroe will get at least Friday off and may also sit Saturday after striking out five times Thursday. Monroe knocked over a water cooler after one strikeout and flipped his bat over his head and slammed his helmet after his strikeout ended the seventh with two runners on base. Marcus Thames will probably start in left field on Friday.
Speaking of fiery, did you hear Ernie Bank's description of Ryne Sandberg's managing style (he's with some single A team?): "He's fiery." After Lou explodes, quits, fires himself, or gets himself traded to the Yankees, look for Ryno to take his place. You heard it here first!
