let's clarify this once and for all

Perjury and obstruction of justice in the matter of lying about cheating on your wife is an impeachable offense entirely worthy of bringing down governments (plus you're going to Hell -- quite a double-whammy! that oughta learn ya...). Perjury and obstruction of justice in the matter of lying about blowing the cover of a CIA agent for your own political gain in preserving the value of the lies you told to get a war started (see also: s#i+ blowing up)... feh... let's try to move on.

I love how the "Law and Order" crowd (see: Rudy Guiliani, Fred Thompson, Ohio Neocon, Dick's The Dick, &tc.) immediately backtrack and attack the entire judicial system as soon as one of their flunkies is found guilty of something. And if Patrick Fitzgerald really had a pair he would have put DICK! Cheney and Turd Blossom on trial rather than Scooter the Stooge.

smiff,
There is no backtracking on our part. We stand up for law and order. The fact is Scooter did not commit a crime. He never leaked the name of a covert agent because she was never covert and even if she had been he was not the one who leaked the name. He simply forgot some details and got things mixed up, anyone can do that. That is not a crime. Fitzgerald was taking out his anger on an innocent man because he was trying to prove a crime that didn't exist so he confused Scooter and Scooter misspoke. That is a fact.
