FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal expects the Cubs to exercise their options on Steve Trachsel and Daryle Ward for 2008.
Ward, owed $1.2 million next year, figured to have his picked up. However, it's a surprise that they'd want anything more to do with Trachsel, who was 1-3 with an 8.15 ERA after being picked up from the Orioles. They may figure he'd have some trade value at $4.75 million for 2008, but we're guessing they're wrong.

According to Bruce Miles in the Herald this morning that rumor about picking up Trachsel's option is unfounded.
Would a Fox network air an unfounded rumor? I don't think so.
They make up the news and then you decide whether it's true or not.
