Perino: Bush Has 'Actually' Reduced US Global Warming Emissions

At a July 3 briefing, White House press secretary Dana "Fullas#i+" Perino made the bizarre claim that the United States has "actually" reduced "actual emissions" of greenhouse gases, complaining that President Bush "gets absolutely no credit at all." (Waaaaahhh... Ed.)

You are reading the story all wrong. The global warming emissions of the US have only gone from 6.98 metric tonnes to 7.08 metric tonnes in 6 years. If we had good economic growth during those years the current number would be much higher if it grew at a rate correlated with economic growth. So Bush is a hero for the bad economy. He has given us a green economy where the rich can still make money and the poor will have a cleaner world on which to live.

Under Bush, eventually poor people in this country will have a zero carbon footprint. Makeshift hand-hewn wooden shacks on self-sustaining organic cotton fields harken back to a simpler time when life was easier and we knew that every unborn life was a precious commodity waiting for a loving family to take it in. When we recongized the value of the second amendment in relation to our fellow citizens, when habeus corpus applied to real American citizens and not just anybody on U.S. soil. When church created a common bond, and raised us up to the lord in spite of our suffering here on earth. Imagine a simpler life, without government intrusion, with strong community ties and no taxes. Oh for those halcyon days!
