He was totally, completely, shockingly (not!) wrong, if you will.

Did he not suspect that people were writing s#i+ down while he talked? Or that some might have had recording devices of some kind, which could store the comments, to be replayed later (perhaps these should have been confiscated)?
Dat's a good idea. Maybe AG Gonzo could get one of dem recorders, or maybe a note pad to write stuff down. Dat way he might remember SOMETHING from a meeting just 5 months ago...
