2000 labels - is that a lot?

And today we could really use a "brain-dead Norwegians" label.

I deleted "Alfonsucko SUCKS" but it won't let me create "Alfonsucko the 12-fingered freak SUCKS." I don't see how the work of the Nation can move forward.

This appears to be a new feature?

Fung started to fall asleep reading that - and he's the geeky one! Anyway, one of the first things I noticed is that it seems a few people actually have way more than 2000 labels, and the problem comes up in only a few instances. I'm guessing if you create a new label and don't have existing ones there as well it won't let you create the new one. Someone else can test that. Our actual count of labels is in the 2600 range (my count says 2641) so there would have to be a TON of deleting to get us back in compliance.

The "A blog may have at most 2000 labels" change is just too much. Its causing quite a riot at the Google Forums right now. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/blogger/thread?tid=4844c90fd0e8a526&hl=en People are switching to Wordpress because Blogger has gone too far this time.
