It's a pretty short trip from collective transportation to collective farming.

Chicago's high-speed rail dream is arriving

Besides, I find our 19th-century rail infrastructure quaint.

Except our high speed is only mid speed by Euro-Japanese standards, and since they still won't build separate lines for the tracks they will still have routing issues that will slow the trains down. Until they build new tracks just for high speed, this is all a waste of time & money.
