tollway approves fast lane for rich phokks

Illinois tollway OKs $400 million congestion-relief project

So one half-empty lane and two lanes of people who can't afford a price gouge sitting bumper to bumper will reduce emissions.... hmmm....

How much extra will it cost me if they throw in a hooker? (Is that why they're called HOT lanes?)

If you can't afford the premium, find someone to ride along with you. Or get a new job so you can afford the premium. I don't understand why we shouldn't have certain laws because they only "help" the rich. We should all strive to be rich. We should strive to make the money to get what we want instead of complaining about what we can't get and demand that we be able to get it. <\rant>

Annudder suggestion - blow up dolls. Or shares in the companies that make them anyway. Coz sales are about to skyrocket...

So if I'm driving to the aeroport I'm supposed to find someone else who has an aeroplane to catch, or pay more to catch my aeroplane on time, or sit in the slow lane, or look for a new job... I kind of think the roads should be one of the last bastions of equality and we should all get to use the same lanes, but I'm kind of a commie that way, it's true. The idea that we're all in this together and people have the same access to public resources regardless of their job title or bank account or zip code was such a quaint notion - I'm sorry to see it go.

We already have toll roads, so your commie bastion is already gone. I don't see how this will relieve congestion though, as you pointed out one lane might be moving fine, while the others are choking on fumes. We just want to reward people for certain things like having more than one person or having a less polluting car or having lots of disposable income. If we have enuff of dose people the lane will fill up anyway. What's really frightening is the big brother extension that's required for this. Someone's gonna have to comb thru all the pics or vids to see who was driving what where when and with who in order to do all this billing. This is no longer just a transponder thing.
