The longest rest of our lives...

Today's Polls, 9/12

Really, if the Dems can't win this year, stick a fork in 'em, they're done. Jesusland will have won. It's time for Barack to get in the gutter with Rove & Co. They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue, that's the Chicago way. Really, no more futzing around. Got any "pictures" of McCain and his black baby? GO RIGHT DOWNTOWN AND PRINT IT. I dunno, BUT DO SOMETHING. And by SOMETHING i mean DURTY! I just can't imagine 8 years of McCain and 8 years of Palin. I'll be 59 for phokk's sake. Actually, if this all comes true i'll have either hung myself by that point, or will be held at an America Haters Internment Camp with K-Mad. If he hasn't moved to Europe by that point.

This is all to say, getting really really really really really worried at his point. Someone talk Smiff down off the ledge...

Just wait, after Obama runs this ad, he'll be way ahead:

OBAMA. I'm Barack Obama, and I approve this message.

ANNOUNCER. John McCain says the most important issue in this election is the threat from fundamental Islamic terrorists.

To help him counter that threat, he could have picked Rudy Giuliani to be Vice President.

Or Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

Or possibly General David Petraeus.

Instead, in a time of war, the 72-year-old Senator McCain would, in the event of his tragic death, entrust our security to Sarah Palin. What does she know about foreign policy?

PALIN. You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska.

ANNOUNCER. This is the level of expertise that John McCain calls on to assist him in a time of war? John McCain: not serious about protecting America.

[Ed. Don't wait up for this ad actually to be run.]

PRINT IT AND AIR IT.

They could be attacking McCain in this way -- going after him on his strength and turning it into a weakness, just like the Republicans have shown time and again to be a winning strategy (and it's pretty obvious why it works, when you think about it). And since they're getting blamed for attacking Palin even when they're not...WHY NOT JUST GO AHEAD AND ATTACK HER? Though the way to do it is not really to attack her, but to attack him for choosing her (as above).

The attack ad they launched today about McCain not sending emails is horrible, weak, disgraceful. It's dumb. No one cares about the "issue", no one will latch onto it, it's as trashy and irrelevant as the ads McCain has been doing -- and which the media was really starting to trash McCain for, which will now stop because Obama is now doing it too. Not to mention that McCain does use the web and gets information from it from his team. Not to mention that he probably doesn't use mail because he has trouble typing because of his war injuries. Just an unbelievably awful ad.

It might be a bad ad that will come back to haunt them. I'm sure the McCain campaign will claim he can't use a computer because of his injuries, whether or not it's true. Of course, he's never suggested that before, and they've certainly pushed the "I'm a P.O.W." line for months. Certainly, if a blind person can use a computer, John McCain could if he wanted to.
