Disaster Relief

When did China get better than us at disaster relief? How did this happen? Do we need to start questioning our system of government? Or is a flood just a lot harder than an earthquake? Why do so many Chinese people seem to be interested in donating blood? Why does the country seem do be drawing strength and national unity from such a disaster? Did I take a wrong turn somewhere?

We could make a better comparison if a quake were to hit the Chinese equivalent of the lower 9th Ward (Tibet?), but their response looks pretty good. Building codes might warrant another look...
