telling me I can't invest in genocide is a curtailment of my freedom

News item: The Darfur Accountability and Divestment Act (DADA) passed the House of Representatives today by a vote of 418 to one.

So there were US companies out there that couldn't divest out of foreign companies that had dealings in Sudan (& Iran, separate bill) because they might get sued? And they needed the govt to step in and say "don't worry, divest and they can't touch you" before they would sell? Sounds like corporate welfare to me. They should have said "if you don't divest in these companies we'll sue you."

And, of course, there's a loophole. Gotta have more than $20 mil invested. Guess what foreign companies are gonna be moving quick to reduce their investment to $19,999,999.99?
