Another indication that the world is ending
The Main Stream Media says it isn't.
Is Doomsday Coming? Perhaps, but Not in 2012
Apparently, the New York Times isn't impressed that the current 5,125 year cycle of 13 bak'tuns will end on December 20, 2012. (Did the Mayans have to make the world end right before Christmas? Why did they hate Jesus?)
"If you want to worry, most scientists say, you should think about global climate change (I think this blog has successfully debunked that myth - Ed.), rogue asteroids (NOW we're talking! :-) - Ed.), or nuclear war (tried it - didn't work - Ed.)."

Another label needed: zombie/End Times nexus
"Zombies are an apocalyptic threat, we are living in times of apocalyptic anxiety (and) we need a vessel in which to coalesce those anxieties..."

Signs of the Apocalypse?
Sports bulletin: Blackhawks (who?) win 7 in a row, 15 players weren't born yet the last time that happened.
sKILLy bulletin: -3 degrees. Fahrenheit. That would be -20 degrees Centigrade.
Oh, no, wait, that's hell freezing over. My bad.

Mixed Results
Okay so it was fun for the first time to have someone I voted for win the national election. How could I resist when the Republican's kept telling me he is a Socialist. So I figured between him and Brian Moore, I had the better chance of an Obama victory.
But there are a ton of ballot iniatives which did not go well. The one man one woman - marriage thing seems to have support everywhere it was up on the ballot. I still say, lets make it one man one woman and Jesus Christ, and that way the rest of us can have domestic unions. I mean seriously - to give someone your shit (free) after you die one of you has to have a penis and one a vagina? Really? In Arkansas unmarried couples [read: faggot lovers] cannot adopt kids. So those kids get to rot in state homes. Hooray! At least the pro-choice ballot iniatives seem to have had some success. Especially one especially exciting initiative which would have made a fertilized egg a person, wiping out even some forms of birth control. Remember every sperm is sacred.

Ok, maybe God screwed up by choosing Bush to be 43rd president, but now he says Palin should be 45th, and I say He deserves another chance
Behind the Christian right's enthusiasm for Palin's conservative credentials is a visceral sense that that she has come from them, not to them. Some right-wing evangelicals even believe she has messianic potential. As former Christian Broadcasting Network vice president Jim Bramlett wrote, "Sarah is that standard God has raised up to stop the flood. She has the anointing."
"I wouldn't wanna do anything to hurt God. He's got enough trouble with the Russians and all."

Hell freezes over?
Pat Buchanan: “I stand with Obama! It was a genuinely outstanding speech, it was magnificent. I saw Cuomo’s speech, I saw Kennedy in ‘80, I even saw Douglas MacArthur, I saw MLK; this is the greatest convention speech and probably the most important because unlike Cuomo and the others, this was an acceptance speech, this came out of the heart of America, and he went right at the heart of America. This wasn’t a liberal speech at all. This is a deeply, deeply centrist speech. It had wit, it had humor, and when he used the needle on McCain, he stuck it into McCain and it was funny. It was Kennedy’s speech in ‘80. I laughed with Kennedy when he was needling Ronald Reagan.”

Good News for End-Timers (you know who you are)
Asteroids Could Reseed a Devastated Earth
Posted May 18, 08 3:13 PM CDT in Science & Health
(newser) – If a comet ever obliterates life on Earth, don't worry—space rocks could later fall in and reseed a few basic life forms. A new study shows that organisms can survive being hit by a meteor, ejected into space, and hurtled back to Earth on the face of a rock—which is good news should we ever go the way of the dinosaurs, Astrobiology reports.
Researchers smashed life-filled rocks with metal plates, simulating the pressures they would face being jolted into space. Other studies have showed life would endure re-entry, but the initial departure was still a question mark. So, rest easy: "A re-seeding scenario on a planetary surface is possible with diverse organisms,” the study said. Source Astrobiology Magazine

And New Orleans? Hagee ain't aplopogizin' for dat one: you got what you deserved...suckers!
Now McCain can go back to jerking off pandering the religious right for votes...
Pastor Hagee "apologizes" for anti-Catholic remarks (AP)
In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: "Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful."
Ah yes, one of those non-apology apologies. You know, one which doesn't say "I apologize" or "I am sorry" but does say, "If anyone may have been offended." aka a bulls#i+ apology.
Of course, Bill "The Great Whore" Donohue sucked it up like a sale on sacramental wine.
And as long as you're a Catholic who believes in reproductive rights, evolution or is gay, you're still going to burn in hell for all eternity. There won't even be a non-apology for those sins. And no need to for any Republicans to fret over those comments, since they're basically the party platform.

Though this shouldn't affect the coming Rapture in any way. Armageddon? Come on down!

An Act of God? It's da only way for S#i+ Blowing Up to win...
Like Mike Hackabee, Smiff has been talking to The Big Man...hoping for a plague of locusts to rain down upon Foxborough.
Alas, i will be on a train to Santa Barbara and can't watch the end times play out on the grid-iron...
ESPN reporter Wendi Nix reported that there is currently a "wintry mix" falling at Foxborough stadium and similar conditions should continue until gametime. Winds remain the main concern and are expected to continue. It started snowing in New England, but quickly changed to sleet and freezing rain. More than anything, wind would hurt Brady's chances of a big day. We would continue to monitor all the weather situations, but would only consider benching Brady for another top-5 quarterback option. The consequences of the weather is unknown.
Dis just in...
Wendi Nix of ESPN reports that the weather at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough "is an absolute mess." The tarp is still on the field less than two hours before kickoff between the Jets and Patriots. Snow and what The Weather Channel reports could be 35 MPH winds will lessen the Patriots' chances of putting up their usually explosive numbers offensively, and could specifically put a big hit on Tom Brady's fantasy value.
...Locusts! I Demand Thee!!
(I'm also seeing if God will smite Mike Shanahan and his "offensive" play calling...)

Batten down the hatches, again
A second round of rain expected over the next few days again raises the risk of flooding in areas burned in October's fires. The approaching storm should hammer the county with timing eerily similar to last week's storm.

Forecast: Hail, Thunderstorms, BULL$#IT
5-day forecast
Check out dis hyoooge pile of you-know-what:
Four days out, and they're listing a 70 percent chance of rain Friday afternoon... Forecaster Stan Wasowski...said the storm could, might, maybe bring the coast--drum roll please--3 to 5 inches.[He'll be here all week.--ed.]...The storm is just southeast of Kamchatka now...We'll see. In this year of the missed forecast, the models could be off again. "I don't see how they (the models) could all be wrong," Wasowski said. "If all of them are wrong, that would be fascinating."[and SHOCKING!--ed.]...we could get quite a bit of rain, and that might not be all. The National Weather Service is also tossing in the possibility of hail, thunderstorms and snow at 4,500 feet or lower...and flying monkeys.
