Okay so it was fun for the first time to have someone I voted for win the national election. How could I resist when the Republican's kept telling me he is a Socialist. So I figured between him and Brian Moore, I had the better chance of an Obama victory.
But there are a ton of ballot iniatives which did not go well. The one man one woman - marriage thing seems to have support everywhere it was up on the ballot. I still say, lets make it one man one woman and Jesus Christ, and that way the rest of us can have domestic unions. I mean seriously - to give someone your shit (free) after you die one of you has to have a penis and one a vagina? Really? In Arkansas unmarried couples [read: faggot lovers] cannot adopt kids. So those kids get to rot in state homes. Hooray! At least the pro-choice ballot iniatives seem to have had some success. Especially one especially exciting initiative which would have made a fertilized egg a person, wiping out even some forms of birth control. Remember every sperm is sacred.

Um. Okay
I like how Chris Matthews immediately pointed out that our potential new VP isn't going to answer the questions you want her to and wants to explore expanding the power of the Vice Presidency. Power hungry and anti-democratic. That's how I like my politicians.
Just for fun, I went and looked through Article II of the Constitution. I think this section makes it pretty clear that despite the acknowledgement that the VP is the president of the Senate in Article I that the VP is part of the executive branch.
U.S. Constitution. Article II, Section 4. The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. [Ed.: This includes lying about blow-jobs].
No such provision appears to exists for members of congress. I suppose I get extra credit for that.
And I can't get "Joe 6-pack" out of my head. I am so not Joe 6-pack, not even Joe Box 'O Wine. My guess is if I met Joe 6-pack he and I would think eachother assholes. Oh well.

Corms and ComEd: A Love Story
After sending my e-mail to the ICC on Wednesday I received multiple calls from ComEd on Thursday to rectify the situation. Reading between the lines of what the ComEd representative was saying it sounds like ComEd disconnected the previous tenant for non-payment. Luckily I had my lease in the car and was able to fax it over to them to prove I was a new tenant. After receiving my faxed lease they called me back and said the "formal request" for power had been made and once that happens it takes up to three business days, so with the holiday it would be Wednesday by the latest. Someone would have to let them into the laudry room to take the lock off the power so I told them that I could go do that if they called about 1/2 hour before. I also told them that I couldn't be there Saturday morning because I'd be in the burbs loading the truck. Saturday morning I have the truck 2/3 loaded and go to check the phone, there had been a call from a ComEd number. "Phokkers," thought I realizing that they were trying to turn it on that morning when I told them I couldn't get there. I called the number back and the guy said that he was there to turn on the power, but another tenant happened to be around and let him in to turn the power on. The moral of the story? There ain't one.
