I'm guessing neither one was a Rhodes Scholar

Cops: Ohio man shot self after running over friend
The Associated Press 5:03 a.m. March 23, 2009
SAGAMORE HILLS, Ohio — Police say an Ohio man fatally shot himself in the head moments after realizing he had run over a friend in a bar parking lot.
Summit County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Cottle says witnesses saw Erich Schultz and Stacy DiJulius arguing in the parking lot after both had been drinking at a bar in Sagamore Hills, about 20 miles south of Cleveland.
Cottle says 38-year-old Schultz tried to drive away in his Jeep, but DiJulius tried to enter the vehicle as it moved and fell under one of the tires. Cottle says it appears Schultz accidentally ran over DiJulius and he felt so bad about it that he took out a gun and shot himself.
The 39-year-old DiJulius died at a hospital after Saturday night's accident. Schultz died on Sunday.

Very sorry to push Smiff's bundle of joy down the page for this, but the world keeps turnin' ya know!

Palin did not have time to answer questions from the media following her trip through southeastern Ohio, but left some folks exhilirated at meeting her.

"It was so exciting," said Pat Miller of Patriot, accompanied by her daughter Amber, a student at South Gallia High School. "She seemed to be very sweet, and if she could stop and take the time to buy some diapers for her son, it tells you that for her, family is first.

"However, unlike the governor, I have time to meet with the media."

Republicans losing it

You can't blame them for being angry. Things have been going so well the last eight years, it would be a shame to just piss all of it away.

Panic attacks: Voters unload at GOP rallies

and the video...just what is in the water in Ohio? Look at her, she's got the chicken eyes:

then there's this:

This is what the hate from Right wing talk radio, bloggers and FOX News creates

Eggs, heads cracked open in related pranks

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus teenager who was throwing eggs at cars as part of a late-night prank was fatally shot, police said Sunday.

Police said 16-year-old Garrett Burton was with at least one other teenage boy Saturday in the backyard of a home when someone shot him in the head just before 3 a.m. Police have no suspects...

Another Columbus teen was killed in an egging incident in December 2006. Fourteen-year-old Danny Crawford was shot after a group of boys he was with threw an egg at a car. No one has been charged in that case.

Well, you know what Ohio will vote for: more of the same economic policy via McBush III

America's Fastest-Dying Cities

Washington, D.C. - The turmoil of the mortgage market granted a temporary reprieve from hearing about the woes of America's Rust Belt. That doesn't mean things are better. Despite a decade of national prosperity (huh??--ed.), the former manufacturing backbone of the U.S. is in rougher shape than ever, still searching for some way to replace its long-stilled smokestacks.

Where's it worst? Ohio, according to our analysis, which racked up four of the 10 cities on our list: Youngstown, Canton, Dayton and Cleveland. The runner-up is Michigan, with two cities--Detroit and Flint--making the ranking.

Grandpa Fights Back

For the first time since shortly after clinching the Democratic nomination, we now have Barack Obama as less than a 60 percent favorite to win the election. Our simulations presently project Obama to win the election 58.4 percent of the time, with McCain winning the remaining 41.6 percent.

With praying having solved all of the world's problems, why the hell not?

Choir director in Ohio to pray for cheaper gas
June 20, 2008 10:53 EDT

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Rocky Twyman would disagree with anyone who thinks consumers don't have a prayer against high gasoline prices. The choir director from the Washington, D.C., area has come to Toledo with what he calls his "Pray at the Pump Movement." Twyman says politicans have been unable to do anything about rising fuel costs, so it's time to ask God to intervene and lower prices.

He planned to lead pray-ins Friday at two local service stations, followed by a 12-hour prayer vigil at Toledo First Seventh-day Adventist Church. Church Pastor Mike Fortune read about Twyman and invited him to come to town. Twyman also has led campaigns to nominate Oprah Winfrey for the Nobel Peace Prize and to encourage African Americans to donate bone marrow

Ohio: Land of Morans (cont'd)

Diploma typo gives Ohio graduates proof of their 'educaiton'

WESTLAKE, Ohio - A Cleveland-area principal says he's embarrassed his students got proof of their "educaiton" on their high school diplomas.

Westlake High School officials misspelled "education" on the diplomas distributed last weekend. It's been the subject of mockery on local radio.

Principal Timothy Freeman says he sent back the diplomas once to correct another error. When the diplomas came back, no one bothered to check things they thought were right the first time. (woops!... ed.)

Umm...no thank you please.

From the New York Times:

Mrs. Clinton is glowing: “For everyone in America who has been counted out but refused to be knocked out, and for everyone who has stumbled but stood right back up and for everyone who works hard and never gives up, this one is for you!..."

Shut up.

This is so fucking condescending it makes me want to spit hairballs at her. Her story's about as dramatic as a Ford commercial.

Why does Ohio always, always, always fuck up?

The idea I would have to vote for her for the sake of the Supreme Court pains me. Deeply.

here's anudder query

"I live in Ohio or Texas, am I brain-dead?"

But much of Obama's traffic is about topics he'd rather avoid. Yahoo! analyst Vera H-C Chan says people in Ohio and Texas are still scouting out rumors about Obama, as reflected in queries like "barack obama muslim," "obama's church," "obama antichrist," "barack obama muslim school," and the straightforward question, "is obama a christian or a muslim?"
