a Kafkaesque, Smiffian win for the Cats

Late INT lifts Northwestern past Minnesota 24-17

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)—Running the speed option with remarkable ease, Northwestern’s Mike Kafka raced through the Minnesota defense for a record-setting 217 yards. Then he watched teammate Brendan Smith mimic some of his moves for the game-winning touchdown.

Smith grabbed a deflected ball and returned an interception 48 yards to score with 12 seconds remaining, sending Northwestern past stunned Minnesota 24-17 and spoiling homecoming for the 20th-ranked Gophers on Saturday.

“I got the ball and just thought, ‘Touchdown,”’ Smith said. “I think everyone should think that when they get the ball in their hands with however many seconds left. I tried to take it to the sideline and make something happen.”

Kafka did that nearly every time he touched the ball, often taking the snap and just sprinting around the end without even looking to pitch it. With C.J. Bacher’s streak of 25 straight starts stopped by a hamstring injury, Kafka stepped in and carried the ball 27 times. His 217 yards rushing set a school record for a quarterback to make up for a pair of interceptions.

And for you HATERS (K-Mad):

oh, whitey... (cont'd)

'Stunned' white supremacists keep low profile in campaign

"There's a real problem," White said in the interview last month, "in what's called the 'white movement.' One, there's a lot of people who are just mentally ill, and we deal with those a lot. No. 2, there are people who have serious sexual problems."

Sure, pick on the Republicans while they're down...

good morning haters (cont'd), or, Sarah Palin isn't not not dis-un-lying about not being a global warming non-denier

"A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. ... I'm not one, though, who would attribute it to being man-made." ("Why? Because I am a fucking moron, that's why."--ed.)

"When a species' habitat (in this case, sea ice) is declining due to climate change, but there are no discrete human activities that can be regulated or modified to effect change, what do you do?" (Stick your pea-brained head in the ground?--ed.)

"I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity." (Hey, he's just trying to make a buck, and isn't that The American Way?--ed.)

"Show me where I have ever said that there's absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change... I have not said that."
(Well, she's never lied before...--ed.)

liberal media tied up in knots - HATERS!

Fortunately the good American people see through all this fact-mongering

Seeing Is Experiencing, But Better

As a mom, I don’t have to have any experience at these things. You would not ask a man to have any experience, and so I don’t understand why I am being asked about this. Do I think I need this experience?

No, I do not.

Hendry vindicated

No doubt: Jim can do it
Edmonds no longer a star, but play answers critics -- and himself

Jim Edmonds is 37 years old, can't run anymore, can't hit. That's what the critics were saying when he signed with the Cubs. Stupid critics. The least they could have done was give the guy a chance, and ...

Yes, I was the one who wrote that four Wednesdays ago. I also said he couldn't make his signature diving, back-to-the-infield catches anymore. At least I wasn't booing, like the fans.

In other words, it was ''Welcome to Chicago, Jim.'' And while he's still 37, still can't run, still can't make the highlight dives, he has been a big catch for the Cubs. Edmonds still has something left after all.

And it's something the Cubs needed: a left-handed hitter to share the job in center field.

Are Fung & Decker in T.O.'s America haters camp?

Terrell Owens says he's got a "message" for Jessica Simpson when the Cowboys make the playoffs, so "just stay tuned." "Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite in this locker room or in Texas Stadium," T.O. said. "I think with everything that has happened, and obviously the way Tony (Romo) played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood, I think a lot of people feel like she's probably taking his focus away. Other than that, she was at the top of my list until last week."

She's still on the top of Smiff's list, haters, especially after she jinxed Romo and T.O. Also, she one helluva of an actress, she wears underwear (“I always wear underwear. It’s a personal rule.”), and she's a proud American (see below). Other than that, her large chestal area.

Those against this (Fung, Decker) hate America.

is gmail reading my mail? (yes, yes they are)

"News story" at the top of my mail page:

ESPN.com -
Mets, Glavine implode, complete epic collapse [FUNNY!]

Time to retire Tommy G. That 80MPH junk ball 10 inches off the plate is no longer getting it done. But like Smiff, some 40+ year olds are still getting it done...
