The freewheeling consortium blog about baseball, still hating George Bush, the weather, Chicago, live-blogging the End Times, the Chicago hot dog (NO KETCHUP!), inane rambling, and forever and always hating George Bush. ~ "Baseball is more than a game to me, it's a religion." -- Bill Klem, umpire. ~ "They're really behind ya around here..." -- Lee Elia, former manager ~

Murton?
There are few players as veteran as Jeff Conine. He is as veteran as they come, a "professional hitter," if you will. A lefty killer! He's a winner who has been to the post-season. Great dugout presence - he's like another coach out there. He is solid and will help in the clubhouse! The question is, why isn't he a Cub already?
That's a good question Smiff! Why isn't he already of Cub? Well I'm flumuxed, I thought Hendry had already acquired every non Hall of Fame calibre player who reached the Big Leagues while he was coaching at Creighton.
