Head-to-head: Refuge for deserters?
On 3 June, Canada's parliament passed a non-binding motion in favour of allowing deserters to stay
Politicians - always copping out. They should be fined for non-binding motions, they're a waste of time. Either pass a law saying deserters can stay or send them away. Or maybe they're scared of their southern neighbors whose words are backed by nucular weapons. I's not Canadian, so not like I can tell them what to do, but as Fung sees it, if you're for the war, you send the deserters back. If you're against the war, you let them stay. Since Canada's against the war (and therefore, are for the terrists) then it's clear that all dem deserters should stay. Then we can retaliate with tariffs on, er, maple syrup?
