Phillies placed LHP Cole Hamels on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 17, with a strained left elbow. While the Phillies said that it was possible Hamels would miss just one start, it appears they intended to put him on the DL all along. An MRI reportedly showed no ligament damage, which is good news. To replace Hamels, the Phillies have decided to start Fabio Castro on Thursday. Shane Victorino returned from the DL to fill the open roster spot.
This gives Decker a couple of weeks to come to his senses and trade him to me. Think of the children.
