One should really avoid being outside when there's lightning...can't the running and the lawn mowing wait? Maybe lightning safety isn't as ingrained from birth when people grow up in non-lightning capital of the world states?
Dis sounds like something a dumb cracker would do...like golfing during a thunderstorm while wearing a tinfoil hat...
