The freewheeling consortium blog about baseball, still hating George Bush, the weather, Chicago, live-blogging the End Times, the Chicago hot dog (NO KETCHUP!), inane rambling, and forever and always hating George Bush. ~ "Baseball is more than a game to me, it's a religion." -- Bill Klem, umpire. ~ "They're really behind ya around here..." -- Lee Elia, former manager ~

We reward success (2 years ago). Not like in SD, where a coach who gets his team to their best record ever and the postseason gets fired after they didn't go all the way. Besides, he won't be here that long. He needs to get back home and help Hugo continue the revolution...
Well, Bochy, a French Phokk (yeah, he was BORN there), had a record below .500 with da Pads, and the team is essentially unchanged from last year. So why fork over the "proven veteran" $$$ when you can pay Bud Black peanuts. A sound financial decision for a team on the cheap... Also, his current team SUCKS.
