A HYOOGE upper level high pressure system over the Great Basin will bring very hot weather through Friday. The hottest days will be Wednesday and Thursday when many new record highs may be established.

Even the coastal zones will feel some of the effects of this heat wave. Although the cooling influences of a shallow marine layer and onshore ocean breezes will keep temperatures in the 70s to near 80 at the immediate coast... just 5 to 10 miles inland the high temperatures will reach close to 90 degrees.
