The freewheeling consortium blog about baseball, still hating George Bush, the weather, Chicago, live-blogging the End Times, the Chicago hot dog (NO KETCHUP!), inane rambling, and forever and always hating George Bush. ~ "Baseball is more than a game to me, it's a religion." -- Bill Klem, umpire. ~ "They're really behind ya around here..." -- Lee Elia, former manager ~

My response letter (won't be printed):
Mr. Anson J. Glacy, Jr. (@SS#OLE!) characterizes taxation as "compulsory divestment at force of arms" and asks: "Have you ever been mugged?"
A corollary of the formulation that taxation is theft is that humans forming societies which require revenues for their administration is a bad thing, and that modern, complex societies should essentially run themselves. If Mr. Glacy thinks he is being mugged now, he should wait until he gets his wish.
k-mad (really pissed off this time)
P.S. Go phokk yourself.
