For Whom the Zell Tolls
"I’d say people are shocked and demoralized," said one insider. "This billionaire [Zell] comes in and says he is going to save us and then he screws us..."
"The whole history of this being a great national paper, this is definitely the death knell," said one shell-shocked insider.

"a great national paper": Funny!
"I’d say people are shocked and demoralized," said one insider. "This billionaire [Zell] comes in and says he is going to save us and then he screws us..."
Thus proving why the MSM is becoming increasingly irrelevent. If people in the media don't understand what businessmen like Zell do then they haven't been paying attention to what's been going on the last couple of centuries.
Having said that - Newsday is/was a pretty good newspaper - clearly better than the Daily News and the Post (although a bumsnot-ridden flyer from the Office Depot is probably better than either of them) - and on issues related to New York state, better than the Times.
Plus, they had Jimmy Breslin.
Agreeing with Corms, I still say watching Zell being neutered on public television is something that wouldn't bother me. The man is a living, walking, breathing piece of shit that talks.
