Punto going for the gold
Nick Punto has a chance to be the first hitter in 16 years to have enough at-bats to quality for the batting title, yet hit under .200. He's currently at .198 as he tries to avoid becoming the first major leaguer to hit under the Mendoza Line since Rob Deer in 1991. Just four players have accomplished this "feat" in the last 32 years. Punto hit .290 last season, but he just cannot find a way to recapture that form.
