The freewheeling consortium blog about baseball, still hating George Bush, the weather, Chicago, live-blogging the End Times, the Chicago hot dog (NO KETCHUP!), inane rambling, and forever and always hating George Bush. ~ "Baseball is more than a game to me, it's a religion." -- Bill Klem, umpire. ~ "They're really behind ya around here..." -- Lee Elia, former manager ~

This actually comes as a relief. His Sunday column on the Kentucky Derby was vaguely affecting. I was afraid I was getting soft.
Speaking of the Derby, why are we giving SMIFF a free ride for his AWFUL showing?
Kentucky Derby? Did a horse win again?
As for Downey, i believe he is a major award winner. Dat's all i need to know.
Doh i would point out dat Dallas was in the finals last year...uh, when was the last time the Cubs were in the World Series, or had the best record in baseball (like Dallas this year).
Wow...that was totally stupid...just like you said.
Look, he's terrible because in a random sample size of seven game series his teams have never made it all the way. They just win a lot of games all the time and give themselves a chance every year...and that's not good enough for the Cubs!
And that phokk! is just so damn arrogant about what he wrote. It's like he took a turd and points at it to people passing by..."look what I did!!!"
Look, indeed.
