mortal lock defined
Brad Hawpe was down to his last strike before the Rockies would take a 6-5 loss when he delivered a deep blast to center for a home run off closer Antonio Alfonseca....
"Closer" Alfonseca? Isn't that like "peacemaker" Cheney?
ReplyDeleteCalling Alfonseca a closer voids the word of any meaning.
If we use the word closer for him, we have to start using it for anybody who has ever thrown a baseball.
Proven veterans. God loves them more.
